Of course, you’re excited! You’re getting your first apartment! It’s okay to do a little happy dance when nobody’s looking. But, before you get all your friends rallied together for the big move, here is a list of some must-haves that you’ll need from our Columbus apartment movers. We’re going to assume that you have the furniture thing covered, because that would be an entirely different list.
First and foremost, you need nourishment. If you don’t cook, it might just be water and chips. Or, you may need to stock your kitchen to the max. You might even want to have some munchies on hand for whoever’s helping you move.
Whether you are a cook or not, you will need some basic supplies for your kitchen. It might just be a toaster and a coffee maker. Or, you may need to go all out with dishes and cookware. Just get the basics to start. And, don’t forget:
You don’t want to be a slob. An all-purpose cleaner that can be used on all surfaces, including floors, will come in very handy. And, you’ll want plenty of paper towels.
Think about those things that you always took for granted when you were living with your parents. Buy some good sheets. You might want to even think about bedside lamps.
Here’s a checklist of must-haves:
You at least want to have a starter set with a hammer, pliers, and a set of screwdrivers and wrenches.
You don’t want to be balancing yourself on chairs to reach for anything.
It might come in handy, especially if you skip the ladder suggestion.
You can always save the ones that you get from the dry cleaners, or you can buy them.
Always have backup batteries for anything that uses them.
Keep your electronics safe. You will also need extension cords, and maybe even power strips, depending on how many outlets you have.
It’s a must. And, don’t forget to set up cable installation early.
You’ll need some sort of system for storing seasonal clothes and other things.
Noisy neighbors can be tough to deal with. A good set of earplugs will at least let you get some sleep at night.
You may not use them very often, but you’ll be glad that you have them when you need them.
There you go. This should at least get you started. You’ll soon be buying all sorts of other things for your new apartment after you get settled in. You’ve got this!
